A recent study confirms much prior research showing chiropractic care to be a huge help for acute low back pain. The study was done at an army medical center with the patients all being active-duty military personal so they were relatively young. While low back pain affects people of all ages with enormous cost in our health care system, in the military, back pain and similar musculoskeletal disorders are the most prevalent pain complaint.
The study randomized personal with acute low back pain into two groups. Both groups received standard medical care but the second group received additional chiropractic manipulative therapy (which we call adjustments).
The results of this trial suggest that chiropractic manipulative therapy (adjustment) in conjunction with standard medical care offers a significant advantage for decreasing pain and improving physical functioning.
Friends and family that you know with acute back pain should be scheduled for a complimentary consultation with one of the doctors at South Orange Chiropractic Center.
