The popular tea and herbal remedy was linked to a 33% lower risk for death in women, but it had no similar effect on men, according to a recent study of nearly 1,700 adults age 65 and older. Chamomile’s beneficial effects may be due to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, combined with its ability to help reduce anxiety and depression. Women may benefit from drinking chamomile tea daily (but avoid it if you’re allergic to ragweed).
