According to Thomas M. Link MD, PhD, chief of musculoskeletal imaging, University of California, San Francisco when 205 patients (ages 46 to 60) were asked about physical activity, those who frequently did high impact activities, such as running, tennis, were more likely to have degenerated knee cartilage, increasing risk of osteoarthritis.
Those who were mostly sedentary and did very little activity also had signs of cartilage degeneration. What does this mean: There may be an optimal level of physical activity to preserve knee cartilage. Are you concerned about knee arthritis? Maybe you should discuss your activity levels with the doctors here at South Orange Chiropractic Center or the nutritional/supplements available that have been proven to build cartilage.
